Conservation Board

Conservation Board

A seven-member Board, appointed to two-year terms (no term limit), which typically meets on Tuesday before the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month @ 7:30 PM in the Town Hall Conference Room – 1350 Turk Hill Road. The parking lot entrance has a sign that states Town Offices. Please enter the building by using the third set of double doors, which are to the right of the flag pole.  Verify meeting schedule with Director Volunteer Boards/Conservation Board Liaison, Lori Stid.

The Conservation Board serves in an advisory capacity, primarily providing recommendations to the Planning Board on whether applications will have a significant environmental impact in accordance with the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA). The Conservation Board also comments to the Town Board and Zoning Board of Appeals on matters pertaining to environmental issues within the Town.

These workshop meetings are open to the public and are conducted in a more informal manner than the public hearing format of the Planning Board, Town Board, and Zoning Board of Appeals.

The Conservation Board meeting is a workshop public meeting; not a public hearing.
