A Message from Jennifer West

Perinton Town Clerk /Tax Receiver

My staff and I would like to wish our residents a happy and healthy holiday season!  Looking ahead…2018 will be here before we know it. January is a busy time in the Tax Office. Residents who do not have their property taxes paid through a mortgage escrow can expect to receive their 2018 Town and County tax bills the first week of January.

Although most of us don’t enjoy paying property taxes, we do enjoy the excellent services provided by our Town government!  Perinton’s full value tax rate has been one of the three lowest in Monroe County for more than 35 years. Only 6.4% of the total property tax liability is dedicated to fund Town government operation.

We encourage residents to participate in public meetings at all levels of government, including School Board Meetings, to ensure full community input during the budget and policy making process and throughout the year.

Information about the upcoming Town and County Tax cycle is as follows:

  • Tax bills for the upcoming 2018 Town and County tax collection will be mailed December 29th
  • The first installment or full payment will be due on February 12th (due to February 10th falling on the weekend)
  • The Town will accept payments in the form of check or cash in person at the Town Tax Office from 9AM - 5PM, Monday through Friday or by mail
  • Tax payments may also be dropped in the Tax Drop Box in front of the Town Hall entrance.  Please adhere to all due dates and interest schedules.
  • Credit card payments can be made online at www.monroecounty.gov, please be aware that a fee, equaling 3% of the total amount paid, will be charged by the credit card company when paying by credit or debit card
  • If you do not have escrow and have not received your tax bill within the first week of January, please call our office at 223-0770 or log on to www.monroecounty.gov to obtain a copy

If you have questions feel free to call our office, we are always happy to help our residents in any way possible!  Happy New Year!!!
