Tax Information

The Receiver of Taxes collects taxes twice a year:  the county and town taxes in January and school taxes in September. County and town taxes are mailed around January 1 and are due on February 10th.  They may be paid in three installments, due on February 10, February 28 and March 31.

School tax bills are issued for the five school districts in Perinton: Fairport, Penfield, Pittsford, Victor and East Rochester. They are mailed around the first of September and are due on October 1st.  Tax bills for all districts except Victor Schools may be paid in three installments, due September 15, October 15 and November 15.  All taxes may be paid at the Clerk's office, at Bank of America in the Village of Fairport or by mail.

Thousands of bills are mailed by the Receiver each year; unfortunately, they do not all get where they are supposed to.   Residents are reminded to notify the Tax Receiver's office if they have not received a tax bill by the end of the first full week of January or the first full week of September so that a duplicate bill may be issued.

New residents are asked to call the Clerk's office with information about escrow accounts so that tax bills will be sent to the correct address.
