Perinton Recreation and Parks/Lions Den Teen Center Summer Programs 2014

All registrations should be done through Perinton Recreation and Parks  

F, 6/13  Unplugged at the Amphitheater  6:30-8:30 pm  Grades 9-12  Community Event No Registration Required  Fee: N/C  Come and support your favorite teen musicians at Perinton's hillside amphitheater. This program is open to the entire community. Bands must be Fairport/Perinton residents in grades 9-12. Parking is available at the Perinton Community Center (1350 Turk Hill Rd) and Center Park (1100 Ayrault Rd). All park rules for youth events apply. In case of inclement weather, call the Perinton Recreation and Parks info line at 425-1170. To be scheduled to perform, or for more information contact Julie Eble at lionsdentc@gmail.com.

Th, 6/26  Create Your Own Ice Cream Flavor at Moonlight Creamery  3-5 pm  Grades 6-10 (Entering Fall 2014)  Code # 336101-K  Fee: $15  You will work hands on with Moonlight Creamery's ice cream artisans to develop and make a custom flavor. If you feel there is an ice cream flavor missing in the world, email your dream concoction idea to Julie Eble at lionsdentc@gmail.com. The winning flavor will be chosen one week in advance, so that ingredients can be purchased. Package includes a tour of the "behind the scenes" operations, hands on opportunity to create the group's custom flavor, a scoop of ice cream the day of the program, and a certificate for an additional scoop of the flavor you made.

W, 7/9  Go-Kart Racing at County Line Raceway  5:30-7 pm  Grades 6-10 (Entering Fall 2014)  Code # 336101-M  Fee: $30  Join the Teen Center for an evening of go-karting fun at County Line Raceway, 311 Pittsford-Palmyra Rd, Macedon. Fee includes 4 tickets, 2 slices of pizza, soda and an ice cream cone. Additional money may be brought for the video arcade. Registrants must be at least 4'7" tall.

Th, 7/17  Foodlink Volunteer Opportunity  8:50-11:50 am  Grades 6-12 (Entering Fall 2014)  Code # 336101-P  Fee: N/C  Every year more than 5000 people volunteer their time at Foodlink to help provide support for low-income families. Would you like to give a few hours to help? A brief orientation is offered prior to the session. Meet at Foodlink, 1999 Mt Read Blvd promptly at 8:50 am. Directions to the facility are available on the website at www.foodlinkny.org and will be mailed to all registrants. Long pants and closed shoes are mandatory. Warm clothes are suggested. Parents are welcome to attend. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR BOTH STUDENT AND PARENT VOLUNTEERS.

W, 7/23  Sky Zone Field Trip  2:30-5:30 pm  Grades 6-10 (Entering Fall 2014)  Code # 336101-S  Fee: $25  Join the Teen Center for a unique way to move and jump, as we spend an afternoon at Sky Zone in Greece. Their facility offers a massive indoor surface with angled trampolines that allow you to literally bounce off the walls! Fee includes 2 hours of open jump, mandatory SkySocks, and transportation. Extra money may be brought for concession stand. A Sky Zone release waiver must be signed by the parent or guardian, or the child will not be permitted to jump. Meet the bus at the Perinton Community Center promptly at 2:30 pm for check in.

Tu, 7/29  Laser Quest Field Trip  2-4:30 pm  Grades 6-10 (Entering Fall 2014)  Code # 336101-D  Fee: $22  Come and experience the ultimate interactive entertainment with a group from the Teen Come and experience the ultimate interactive entertainment with a group from the Teen Center, as we spend an afternoon at Laser Quest's multi-level arena at their Greece location. Fee includes 2 games, upper body pack rental, and transportation. Additional money may be brought for video games. Meet the bus at the Perinton Community Center at 2:00 pm for check in.   

Sat, 8/16  Community Yard Sale Teen Volunteers  Session 1: 7:30 – 9 am Code # 336101-N/Session 2: 12:30-2 pm Code # 336101-O  Grades 6-12 (Entering Fall 2014)  Fee: N/C  We are looking for teen volunteers to help with our Community Yard Sale that will take place at the Perinton Community Center's north parking lot. Two volunteer time slots are available; 7:30-9:00 am Teens will assist with vendor set-up and general event set-up, or 12:30-2:00 pm Teens will assist with vendor take down and general clean-up.

W, 8/20  Summer Splash  3:30 - 5:30 pm  Grades 6-10 (Entering Fall 2014)  Code # 336101-H  Fee: $7  Looking for a fun way to cool off this summer with your friends? Join the Teen Center at the Perinton Community Center's Aquatic Facility for an afternoon of swimming enjoyment. The iceberg and pool basketball will be set up. Afterward, pizza will be served in Room 208 B. Don't forget your suit and towel!
