The Building Department is staffed by eight professionals. They have the focus to promote awareness of codes relative to fire/life safety and enforce those codes. Our staff is also a valuable source of information to assist you through your renovation project. We can answer all your building, planning and zoning related questions as well as provide you with technical information.
We are tasked with the enforcement of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code as well as the Code of the Town of Perinton. By assisting contractors, designers and homeowners we ensure that the structures they create are safe not only for today, but for many years to come.
The Building Department reviews all plans for building permits to ensure compliance with zoning laws and building code requirements. As well, we perform periodic inspections during construction to ensure that the work complies with the approved plans and the building code. Our staff is available to answer any questions you may have. We also have standard practice handouts to assist you with your renovation project.
